People have to be invited to your group. No one can “join” a group.
Group members are created by a Group owner and populated with individual members by the Group owner.
The Group owner not only decides who the members are, but how the group works:
-- whether members can see each other or not. Visibile or Invisible. Making Group members Visible allows intra-group communication.
-- the default characteristics of the group: the signal before or after a message – nicknames, deletion, signing.
Group members will see that they belong to a group after they’ve been added. The group appears in their list of Groups of which they are members.
The Group members do have some rights and perks:
-- Each member can pick a different email/mobile number which further enhances the “’secrecy” of the group. For example, maybe you’ll put in your very private cell number for a group signal in a highly cloaked group.
-- Postings to Facebook and Twitter are managed per group by members.
-- Signing and deletion of messages too (overriding the Owner’s settings)
Group owners can remove a member or a group.
Group members can opt out of a group.
